It was a great night of fights at The Venue at Horseshoe Hammond in Hammond, Ind. where some of the finest, in Bellator, slugged it out to see who is the top man. An excellent main event took place, where many wondered if the referee should have stepped in sooner. It makes a compelling argument as to when is the right time for a referee to intervene. Should a referee risk stopping a fight too early to preserve the fighters health, or is it better to let everyone know that a fighter undoubtedly won the bout? It can often be a tough call but surely there is a correct balance to be had.
Genair da Silva took out Bobby Reardanz by way of TKO in the third round due to unanswered strikes.
Alexandre Bezerra tapped out Kenny Foster in the second round by way of rear-naked choke.
Shamar Bailey vs. Josh Shockley went the distance where Josh Shockley took the unanimous decision.
Bellator Featherweight Tournament Quarterfinal
Marlon Sandro applied a rear-naked choke on Roberto Vargas getting the win in the featherweight tournament.
Ronnie Mann vs. Mike Corey went the distance where Mike Corey got the unanimous decision.
Daniel Straus went the distance with Jeremy Spoon where Straus took the unanimous decision
Bellator Featherweight Championship
Joe Warren nearly takes Pat Curran to a decision when Curran began to pour it on the champ and eventually got the knock out at 1:25 of round three, making Pat Curran the new Featherweight champion.
Cory Galloway got submitted Jake Nauracy when a rear naked choke proved to be too much to defend in the second round.
Travis Wiuff vs. Anthony Gomez went the distance where Wiuff picked up the win by unanimous decision
Sean McCorkle threw Richard White into a neck crank early in the first round for what appeared to be an easy win.
